Landfill and resource recovery operations will be closed for Remembrance Day on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Normal hours (below) will resume on Monday, November 13, 2017.
Gates open 8 am and close at 4 pm Monday to Saturday. Landfill is closed Sundays and statutory holidays. No new loads are accepted after 3:45 p.m. Please note that loads requiring extra time must arrive by at least 3:30 pm to allow for line-ups, proper handling and be off the site by 4:00 pm.
CURRENT WIND & WEATHER
All loose litter must be bagged when winds are 15 km/h or higher. Some loads may be refused during windy conditions. See our LITTER POLICY which includes set-up instructions for an iPhone app that tracks up-to-the minute wind conditions at the landfill.
The Francis Cooke Regional Class III Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre is a dry waste landfill. No food, apples or other fruit from yards and gardens, pumpkins, kitchen waste, hazardous wastes or liquids can be disposed at this site. See our guide to MATERIALS ACCEPTED (or not). Learn about the landfill by taking the SITE TOUR or test your knowledge by going to the “Library” tab and taking a QUIZ. All loads must be properly tarped or financial penalties may be charged. Sorting is not allowed at the working face when wind speed is greater than 15 km/hr. Please arrive with pre-sorted loads and with loose litter already bagged. Refer to LITTER CONTROL for more instructions. Call the scale office at 403-673-2708 for any current wind restrictions.
TIPPING FEES AND PRODUCT SALES
Fees are charged according to how well loads are sorted to facilitate recycling.
